Full-Court Press, Feb. 14

Some quick-hitters from around the country for your Valentine's Day:

- Pittsburgh junior guard Levance Fields is expected to return tomorrow night, when the Panthers face Marquette in a Friday night showdown. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

- USC sophomore guard Daniel Hackett could miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his lower back. He is out for Sunday's game against UCLA. (Los Angeles Times)

- Credit Jim Brown for DeAndre Bell's rise into the upper echelon of defensive players in the country. A phone call last season from the Hall of Famer motivated Bell. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

- Drake suffered its first loss in Missouri Valley Conference play and only its second loss of the season, when it went into Carbondale last night and fell to Southern Illinois. (The Southern Illinoisan)

- One the main reasons for Texas A&M's recent five-game winning streak is the emergence of Bryan Davis, who is finally making an impact in the starting lineup. (Dallas Morning News)

- Could Texas be in the mix for a top-seed come Selection Sunday? They have the best collection of wins in the country. (Houston Chronicle)

- Memphis overcame a halftime deficit to continue its quest for an undefeated season, outscoring Houston by 11 in the second half to get the hard-fought win. (Memphis Commercial Appeal)

- Arkansas is not in the NCAA Tournament, but Houston and Arizona State are? According to Dick Jerardi, that's how it is going to play out. (Philadelphia Daily News)

- After a disappointing two-point performance in the two teams' first meeting, expect Cal sophomore swingman Patrick Christopher to have a big game tonight against Arizona. Also, DeVon Hardin should be back in the starting lineup. (San Francisco Chronicle)

- Syracuse looks destined for the bubble once again this season, and right now Tim Gardner has the Orange "out" in his updated Bubble Tracker. (USA Today)

- All the positive momentum Kentucky had prior to this week has likely disappeared after the 41-point thumping it took at Vanderbilt on Tuesday. (Louisville Courier-Journal)
