Crater to South Florida
Crater left the Buckeyes after 10 games because Ohio State head coach Thad Matta "was not living up to" promises he made to Crater, Crater's former AAU coach told the Columbus Dispatch. According to Carlos Fordham, Matta told Crater that he would be the starting point guard once he entered the program and also that the signing of junior college point guard Jeremie Simmons wouldn't affect his playing time. "We don't like people to lie to us," Fordham said. "That was a lie." Simmons has started every game for the Buckeyes, while Crater had not started once. He played 13.1 minutes per game, averaging 1.2 points per contest and sporting an assist-to-turnover ratio better than 2-to-1.
