News and notes from the college basketball landscape...

- Marquette junior guard Dominic James was taken to a hospital after the Golden Eagles' win over Seton Hall for tests on a sprained right wrist. Coach Tom Crean says James will be fine; he suffered the injury after Pirates' guard Jamar Nutter committed an intentional foul on a fast-break. (ESPN)

- Speaking of Marquette-Seton Hall, was SHU coach Bobby Gonzalez really yelling while Marquette's Lazar Hayward was shooting free throws in order to distract him? (MUScoop.com)

- USC has struggled at home this season, after going 15-3 in the Galen Center last season. However, the team has seen a huge increase in fan support, which could help in Pac-10 play. (Los Angeles Times)

- Michigan forward DeShawn Sims said Indiana is the best team it has played so far -- a schedule that already included UCLA, Duke, Wisconsin, Butler and Georgetown. (Indianapolis Star)

- Indiana senior big man D.J. White grabbed 22 rebounds and scored 21 points in the Hoosiers' win over Michigan last night. (Yahoo! Sports)

- Maryland broke out some fresh throwback (probably an oxymoron) uniforms against Holy Cross last night, winning its fourth game in a row. (Baltimore Sun)

- Duke sophomore wing Gerald Henderson returns home to Philadelphia tonight as the Blue Devils take on Temple. (Philadelphia Daily News)

- The motivation for Rhode Island's outstanding 14-1 start to this season comes partially from its loss in the Atlantic-10 tournament title game to George Washington last year. (USA Today)

- Tennessee needs to keep Mississippi off the glass tonight if it wants to end the Rebels' unbeaten season. (Knoxville News-Sentinel)

- Dayton guard London Warren says Rhode Island won't score 90 on the Flyers tonight, which the Rams have done in five consecutive games. (Dayton Daily News)

- In a game that went somewhat unnoticed last night, Wake Forest surprisingly dominated BYU, pushing the Demon Deacons to 11-3 as conference play heats up. (Winston-Salem Journal)
